The Second Grade Play Made Me Cry

And you would have, too! Whole bunches of little kids singing and talking about ending racism, violence and hatred.

Jonah was in the piece on Harriet Tubman and he was “Slave #1” (Click for larger sizes).


I think they are supposed to be pointing at the Northern Star.


Singing his little heart out! Shame he’s five inches shorter than his classmates and was also in the back row, but oh well.


Delivering one of his three or four lines. Here he is expressing his doubts as to the saftey of the underground railroad. Typical Deal child behavior.


Here they are looking forward toward the long journey North.

Oh, and if we didn’t already know that the Nazis were bad news. This would pretty much seal the deal.
