Re Do Everything

I’ve been buried knee deep in CSS and HTML code for the past little while I’m I’m *very* close to being done with my site’s re-design.

You may notice that I’ve added a couple of categories, “iMovie Mondays” and “Favorite Entries.” These are obviously pretty self explanatory. I’ve been sorely tempted to nuke the “fiction” section since it’s glaringly empty and I’m too a-scared to post anything. But, I’m going to leave it up in the possible vain hope that I’ll grow a spine someday.

Anyway, CSS is pretty amazing. (It’s the wave of the future, kids!) Though as usual, I’m about three years late on that party. If you are serious about writing any kind of CSS code, I heartily recommend CSSEdit. Combine it with BBEdit and you’ve got yourself a really nice little code writing environment. I bought it mere minutes after downloading the try-out version. For me the hugest pain in doing CSS code was being able to see the changes I’d made to the CSS code and how those changes would affect the layout, etc. I’d have to upload the CSS file to the server, flush my cache and reload the page. Lather, rinse, repeat ad infinitum. Ugh. CSSEdit has a very nice “Live Preview” which makes editing the CSS code about as painless as possible. And I’m pretty sure it uses WebKit as its internal rendering engine, so whatever I write will look nice in Safari.

IE is another matter entirely, of course. But no one uses Internet Explorer anymore do they? Oh, wait… Man, what a pain in the booty.

Anyway, the official “Ransom Note Typography” re-launch date is September 23, but I might just pull the trigger early and then start working out the bugs.

Now I feel know how Microsoft feels when they roll out new software!

Ship it now and patch it later!

Holy Crap! Look at all this STUFF down here. It's awesome!

Really, I'm glad you made it down here. Almost no one ever comes down here. I'm like in a freaking dungeon down here. I get lonely. But not you. YOU made it all the way to the end of the page. For this I think I've a little crush on you. I don't know, is "love" to strong a word to use in this situation? Well, if it's not "love," then it's very strong "like." I'm totally in like with you for coming down here. You are awesome. Please love me back! I know, I know, I shouldn't be all needy, it's not attractive at all, but you don't know how it is to be stuck down here. Who scrolls all the way to the end of a page anymore these days? Anyway, thanks for shedding some light down here in the depths. I appreciate it. Shoot me an email and I'll send you a dollar, OK?
