Quitting My Day Job

I’m totally quitting my day job. Because I KNOW now that I have a future as a ROCK STAR.

I know this because we bought Lucas Guitar Hero for his birthday last week and I am quite good at it. I rule, as a matter of fact. So naturally, it follows that I’m going to be making it big Real Soon Now.

OK, technically, I can’t do anything beyond the “medium” skill level and even then I know that I’ll never be able to play “Bark at the Moon” if my life depended on it. But Lucas is a freaking DEMON at the game. The boy’s fingers FLY over those buttons. I’ve already signed him to a long term management contract with Ransom-Note-Typography Management and Bloodsucking Services. (We only take 78%!) Boy’s got a real future, I’m telling ya.

Seriously, if you are going to have a party that involves a) 12 year old boys, b) drunken adults, c) totally immature adults (that’d be me in that category), it’s the BEST GAME ever. Loads of fun. Even Reha (!!) likes playing it. And last game that she really ever played and liked was Ms. PacMan, so that’s saying something. And yes, she’s better at it that I am. All those years playing and faking practicing the violin totally pay off when you have to play “I Wanna Be Sedated” on a fake plastic guitar.

The only problem is that it doesn’t have an online component. If ever there was a game that cried out for download-able content, it’s Guitar Hero. Seriously, Microsoft should shovel loads of money at Red Octane for an xbox port and put that thing on Xbox Live. Or just buy them out right. That’s how much fun the game is. And a game like this should show Sony that if they don’t do something decent with online “stuff” with the PS3, it’s doomed.

Yes, we’ll be pre-ordering Guitar Hero II when it comes out in November of this year. We are sheep now.

Holy Crap! Look at all this STUFF down here. It's awesome!

Really, I'm glad you made it down here. Almost no one ever comes down here. I'm like in a freaking dungeon down here. I get lonely. But not you. YOU made it all the way to the end of the page. For this I think I've a little crush on you. I don't know, is "love" to strong a word to use in this situation? Well, if it's not "love," then it's very strong "like." I'm totally in like with you for coming down here. You are awesome. Please love me back! I know, I know, I shouldn't be all needy, it's not attractive at all, but you don't know how it is to be stuck down here. Who scrolls all the way to the end of a page anymore these days? Anyway, thanks for shedding some light down here in the depths. I appreciate it. Shoot me an email and I'll send you a dollar, OK?
