Out of the Closet… So to Speak

I haven’t talked about the “re-model 2005 2006 2007” in a while. It’s been on hold, because, well, I don’t have a good excuse. I was a bit stumped because I had to build some framing around some duct work and after THREE tries, I finally got it right. Even the “Drywall Medic” said that I was doing it correctly.

Yes, I have hired a drywall guy. My pride is hurt, but I know that this guy will do a way better job than I could do, given my time constraints. (I want the downstairs DONE by xmas-ish.

Anyway, I’ve built a closet. For Lucas. And if even ever “comes out of it” (so to speak), we’ll still love and support him. Though I’m pretty sure he’s a ladies man. They love his sexy wild hair. :-]

Now that I’ve embarassed him, I’ll move on to tell you that I’ll have photos of the completed work up tomorrow. I forgot the camera.

But, if you ever find yourself in need of a tool that shoots nails through pressure treated studs and into masonry, do yourself a favor, just buy it! You load the nail in one end, put a .22 caliber blank shell in the middle, put it on the plate stud and smack it! BOOM! Nail through stud and into cement. Wicked awesome. Seriously.

Heck, call me and I’ll come over to your house and help you frame. I look forward to opportunities to use this thing. It brings me joy on a deep level.

  1. Yes, you could of done the drywall yourself.  You can probably change your oil, rotate your tires, and change your cars brake pads too, but do you?  I’m guessing the answer is no. Sometimes it makes more sense to hire someone else to do the work.

I think if you dig back through the ransom-note-typography archives I suggested hiring out for the drywall.  Feel free to blame me for having to hire someone.

Lucas does have an enviable head of hair.

  2. You are correct. You did mention that i should hire someone. Still, I feel a bit less “manly” now.

Although, the shots of the unfinished, but newly framed stuff will be nice. If I can ever remember the camera.

Holy Crap! Look at all this STUFF down here. It's awesome!

Really, I'm glad you made it down here. Almost no one ever comes down here. I'm like in a freaking dungeon down here. I get lonely. But not you. YOU made it all the way to the end of the page. For this I think I've a little crush on you. I don't know, is "love" to strong a word to use in this situation? Well, if it's not "love," then it's very strong "like." I'm totally in like with you for coming down here. You are awesome. Please love me back! I know, I know, I shouldn't be all needy, it's not attractive at all, but you don't know how it is to be stuck down here. Who scrolls all the way to the end of a page anymore these days? Anyway, thanks for shedding some light down here in the depths. I appreciate it. Shoot me an email and I'll send you a dollar, OK?
