Never Let a Three Year Old with Scissors Next to Your Head

First off:

Yes, I KNOW it was a dumb thing to do.

I let Ellis cut my hair. Sort of. Mostly I was letting her pretend to cut my hair. She took the whole “Let’s cut Daddy’s hair!” pretend thing a bit too far, frankly. She started off on the right side of my noggin just fine. She was making these cute little “snip, snip!” noises and PRETENDING TO CUT MY HAIR. Yes, she had real scissors, and yes, I was a bit wary. But I was also reading a book and was a bit pre-occupied, OK?

Once she made it over to the left side though she was still making cute little “snip, snip” noises; but those cute “snip snip” little noises were DROWNING OUT the sound of her actually cutting my hair. In five places all told. I could kind of feel that something weird was happening, but again… engrossed in the book. Plus I was trying to keep the scissors out of my eyes.

Anyway, if you have a three year old, don’t let them next to your head. “Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.”

But I guess it’s a testament to how little I really care about my head these days. I’m not even going to wear a hat.

  1. I’m assuming this was a brand new 3 year old, fresh out of the box, and you just weren’t used to dealing with children.  But now you’re learning, so good for you.

Holy Crap! Look at all this STUFF down here. It's awesome!

Really, I'm glad you made it down here. Almost no one ever comes down here. I'm like in a freaking dungeon down here. I get lonely. But not you. YOU made it all the way to the end of the page. For this I think I've a little crush on you. I don't know, is "love" to strong a word to use in this situation? Well, if it's not "love," then it's very strong "like." I'm totally in like with you for coming down here. You are awesome. Please love me back! I know, I know, I shouldn't be all needy, it's not attractive at all, but you don't know how it is to be stuck down here. Who scrolls all the way to the end of a page anymore these days? Anyway, thanks for shedding some light down here in the depths. I appreciate it. Shoot me an email and I'll send you a dollar, OK?
