I Am Not a Good Person

Because this made me laugh, the first time I saw it. It also might mean that I have a sense of humor roughly akin to that of a 12 year old boy.

Although, after watching it, I don’t know, a couple dozen times, I do feel bad for the little guy.

  2. Poor squirrel.  I could see doing that if it was getting into your bird food or your plants.  But to actually set a trap for it, just to fling it?

    Poor little guy!!

  3. The NUMEROUS camera/angles belie some kind of cruel streak, I think.

  4. Squirrels are bold, and will eat most anything. Obviously, this squirrel has invited vengeful feelings. They also cause a lot of damage in houses.
Really, they are rats with busy tails. Not as tasty as bunnies, though.

  6. I felt really sorry for the little guy while I was laughing uncontrollably.  Now if you’ll excuse me I have a trap to set…

  7. Bummer. The video won’t work!  It says, “Sorry, this video is no longer available.” Judging from the comments, I think I would have loved it!

  8. I’d say it’s been pulled from YouTube and it’s all Jon’s fault. Thanks, Jon. Thanks a lot.

  9. Now that it’s not working, I’m feeling totally left out, twitchy and insecure. What did I miss, what did I miss?

  10. Basically, someone had taken a bowl, some large elastic bands and food and made a somewhat elaborate device to fling a squirrel a few dozen feet. The food was in the bowl, the bowl attached to to the elastics, forming a fairly robust slingshot.

Inquisitive and presumably hungry squirrel comes along, sniffing and investigating the bowl of food. It gets in the bowl.

Dude hiding on the other side cuts a string and the bowl and the squirrel go FLYING about 20-30 feet off the guys’ porch.

They had at least two, possibly three cameras filming the event. Slow motion shots of the squirrel tumbling through the air. The works.

It’s one of those things where you laugh at first, because of the whole set up and the way the squirrel is LAUNCHED into the air, but then (if you have any sort of decency or humanity, IMHO), you go, “man… that’s pretty mean...”

  11. I guess I have some decency and humanity in me after all.  After the fourth viewing I started feeling bad for the little guy.

Holy Crap! Look at all this STUFF down here. It's awesome!

Really, I'm glad you made it down here. Almost no one ever comes down here. I'm like in a freaking dungeon down here. I get lonely. But not you. YOU made it all the way to the end of the page. For this I think I've a little crush on you. I don't know, is "love" to strong a word to use in this situation? Well, if it's not "love," then it's very strong "like." I'm totally in like with you for coming down here. You are awesome. Please love me back! I know, I know, I shouldn't be all needy, it's not attractive at all, but you don't know how it is to be stuck down here. Who scrolls all the way to the end of a page anymore these days? Anyway, thanks for shedding some light down here in the depths. I appreciate it. Shoot me an email and I'll send you a dollar, OK?
